A craft-worker explains: 'We delight in the harmony of form and function. Through the discipline of apprenticeship we learn to use our tools, and to understand and respect the medium we work in. The hand guides the tool, the tool shapes the form, the form inspires the hand to craft again.'
Craft-workers shape and mould not only wood and clay, but the aspirations and patterns of daily life. They may carve out the channels and ornament the pathways which we are pleased to follow.
